KUALA LUMPUR, 28 OCTOBER 2026 — Magma Kiara Sdn Bhd (“Magma Kiara”), the developer of Wolo Hotel & Residences, Mont Kiara KL (“Wolo Mont Kiara KL”), has signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (“MOC”) with Jalex Sdn Bhd (“Jalex”), an established Malaysian interior fit-out specialist with extensive experience across luxury hospitality properties and landmark developments, to explore its proposed appointment as Hotel Interior Adviser for the development’s hotel component.
Established in 1988, Jalex brings nearly four decades of experience in interior fit-out and project execution. Its portfolio includes four hotels recognised in Malaysia’s 2026 MICHELIN Key selection: The RuMa Hotel and Residences, Else Kuala Lumpur, The Datai Langkawi, and Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast (formerly One&Only Desaru Coast).
Jalex’s hospitality experience also extends to the upcoming Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur, the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in Malaysia, as well as The Conrad Hotel. Beyond hospitality, its project portfolio includes prominent Malaysian landmarks such as The Exchange TRX, Merdeka 118 and Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS.
Its capabilities are further supported by in-house manufacturing facilities specialising in timber, metal and stone works.
Bringing Established Hospitality Expertise to Wolo Mont Kiara KL
The proposed collaboration reflects Magma Kiara’s commitment to bringing together experienced industry specialists to support the development of Wolo Mont Kiara KL, with particular emphasis on design quality, technical coordination and interior execution.
Under the proposed collaboration, Jalex may advise on hotel interior design coordination, material selections, furniture, fixtures and equipment, while working alongside appointed designers, consultants and contractors. Its proposed involvement may also extend to procurement coordination, mock-up reviews, inspections and handover, subject to the final agreed scope.

Advancing Wolo Mont Kiara KL’s Hospitality Vision
Developed by Magma Kiara, a subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia Main Market-listed Magma Group Berhad, Wolo Mont Kiara KL is an approximately RM850 million mixed-use development comprising private residences, serviced residences, a boutique hotel and retail spaces.
The 60-storey development will feature a 63-room Wolo hotel across Levels 49 to 56. Upon opening, the hotel will be affiliated with Design Hotels™️ and participate in Marriott Bonvoy®️. Building on the identity of Wolo Kuala Lumpur in Bukit Bintang, the new hotel will extend the home-grown hospitality brand into Mont Kiara.
The MOC was signed at the Wolo Experience Lounge, Level 19 of Wolo Kuala Lumpur Hotel, Bukit Bintang. Magma Kiara was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Alan Wong Siew Ong, while Jalex was represented by its Group Managing Director, Alex Chan Beng Seow, and Group Executive Director, Janet Lee Yau Haung. Following the signing of the MOC, both parties intend to continue discussions on the proposed scope of collaboration and terms of engagement. The MOC is non-binding and does not constitute a formal appointment of Jalex. Any subsequent engagement will be subject to mutual agreement and the execution of a definitive written agreement.
