Dato’ Sri Lee Hock Seng was appointed Executive Director and Deputy Executive Chairman of the Company on 6 September 2023 and subsequently redesignated as Executive Chairman on 20 May 2024.
With over 30 years of experience in local and international marketing within the hospitality and property development sectors, Dato’ Sri Lee brings a wealth of expertise to his role. As the founder and Group Chairman of HYM Group, he has played a pivotal role in shaping Malaysia’s hospitality landscape, most notably through the creation of the iconic WOLO Kuala Lumpur hotel, renowned for its distinctive design and immersive Malaysian cultural experience. His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to elevating Malaysian hospitality on the global stage have earned him widespread recognition.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dato’ Sri Lee is a dedicated Trustee of the Lee Chong Wei Foundation, where he actively supports aspiring athletes and underserved communities. Dato’ Sri Liang Chee Fong (“Dato’ Sri Thomas”) was appointed Executive Director of the Company on 11 October 2023 and subsequently redesignated as Group Managing Director on 1 March 2024. He holds an Honours Degree in International Marketing and Economics from Coventry University in the United Kingdom and an MBA in General Business Management from Dublin, Ireland.
With over two decades of experience, Dato’ Sri Thomas has held key positions in both local and international financial institutions, including roles in commercial and equity investment banks. His expertise spans advisory roles in investment, operations, marketing, and business development for multinational corporations. Prior to joining Magma Group, he successfully managed various entrepreneurial ventures in the hospitality and property development sectors. He also serves as Executive Chairman of Rekatech Capital Berhad, further showcasing his leadership capabilities.

Dato’ Sri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff was appointed as Group Senior Counsel of Magma Group Berhad on 1st March 2025. He has over four decades of experience in law enforcement, security intelligence, and regulatory compliance. In addition, he also served the Royal Malaysia Police force for 41 years in key leadership roles, including Director of Special Branch, Director of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, and Chief Police Officer of Johor.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dato’ Sri Mohd Mokhtar has been at the forefront of risk management, fraud prevention, and Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) initiatives. His deep expertise in security governance and regulatory frameworks strengthens Magma Group’s commitment to integrity, ethical business practices, and corporate sustainability.
As Group Senior Counsel, Dato’ Sri Mohd Mokhtar plays a pivotal role in advising legal affairs, corporate governance, and regulatory matters, ensuring that Magma Group upholds the highest standards of compliance and operational excellence.
Alan Wong Siew Ong was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Magma Property Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Magma Group Berhad, on 1 July 2024. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, where he developed his meticulous and innovative design ethos. Over the years, he has earned various design awards, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in luxury design and sustainable architecture.
As a celebrated design entrepreneur and visionary, Alan is acclaimed for his distinctive architectural style and innovative approach to luxury real estate. As the Founder and Executive Director of The Luma Hotel, his leadership and creativity have set new benchmarks in the hospitality industry. The Luma Hotel, part of Design Hotels by Marriott Bonvoy, stands as the first Design Hotel in Borneo and the first Michelin Guide city hotel in the region. The property was also recognised as one of Asia’s Top 100 Most Instagrammable Hotels by Trip.com, underscoring its exceptional design and broad appeal.

As CEO of Magma Property, Alan is now steering the company toward new heights by integrating these values into Magma’s refined luxury brand concept. Dato’ Tan Hwa Cheng (“Dato’ Adrian”) was appointed Chief Development Officer of Magma Property Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Magma Group Berhad, on 1 July 2024.
With over 25 years of expertise in property development, Dato’ Adrian is a master in project management, value engineering, and hospitality pre-opening. Renowned for his ability to reposition projects and maximise their potential, he commands an impressive portfolio exceeding RM5 billion in Gross Development Value (GDV), encompassing a wide range of developments, including condominiums, serviced apartments, office towers, hotels, bungalows, and semi-detached properties.

Lee Jun Liang (“JL”) was appointed Group Chief Operating Officer of Magma Group Berhad on 1 November 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Finance from the University Utara Malaysia and is a Certified Credit Professional (CCP). Additionally, he completed his Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at Raffles University, underscoring his dedication to innovation and excellence.
With an impressive track record in the corporate sector, JL brings a distinctive blend of skills and expertise to guide the company’s operational direction. His extensive experience in managing complex operations includes his role as the former Director of Asset Management at HYM Group, where he oversaw a diverse portfolio valued at RM 300 million, applying his financial acumen and strategic foresight to achieve high returns. Prior to HYM Group, JL honed his skills in the banking industry, managing a substantial commercial credit portfolio valued at RM 50 million, focusing on credit evaluation and risk assessment across various sectors, including property investment and manufacturing.

Loi Tien Ching (“Amanda”) was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Magma Hospitality Management Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Magma Group Berhad, on 1 September 2023.
With over 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Amanda is a seasoned leader who has advanced through the ranks of renowned global hotel brands. Her dynamic leadership and strategic approach have contributed to generating RM 100 million in total revenues while continuously improving gross operating profit and net profit. From human resources to operational roles, Amanda has developed a deep understanding of hotel management and consistently inspires her teams to deliver operational excellence.
